Plane refers to the map on which the game is played. There are two separate planes: Arcanus and Myrror. These planes are of the same physical map size. Each wizard, human or AI, start the game on only one of the two planes. The planes have the same terrain but with unique colors and art.

Players may start on Myrror by choosing the Myrran retort at a cost of 3 picks.

Arcanus[]

Arcanus is colored like a normal earth-like world: Green plains and forests, blue lakes and rivers, grey mountains, etc. Most of the races start on this plane.

Encounter Zones on arcanus are on average much easier than those on Myrror.

Myrror[]

Myrror appears much more dry, desolate and harsh than Arcanus. Myrror has several terrain specials that are unique to that plane. Encounter Zones on this plane are on average far more difficult than on Arcanus, and may include some of the most difficult creatures in the game.

Five races are found only on Myrror: Dark Elves, Beastmen, Dwarves, Trolls, and Draconians.

Travel[]

Travel between planes is accomplished in several different ways. The Tower of Wizardry specials allow for direct travel between the plane after the tower has been unlocked by defeating the monsters guarding it. Certain spells will allow transfer, such as Plane Shift. A few creatures, like Shadow Demons, can change between the planes at will.
